Political Pimpin: The Sandra Bland Situation
This case is shrouded in so much mystery that the public is trying to decide if Sandra Bland did indeed kill herself, was murdered, or is a culprit in another national hoax. Is this situation really real or is this another false flag designed to distract us and keep us disengaged with what is going on in politics right now? Considering how things are going these days, that really isn’t a far fetched question. Not to mention, the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal is being brokered this week. Yet, nobody has said anything. Even our media outlets are quiet on the TPP issue and how unconstitutional it is. This “trade” agreement will…

How the Confederate Flag will start another Civil War
If America truly cared about the Confederate flag‘s meaning to Black people, they would never have let it be produced, sold, and allowed on every Capital’s flagpole after the Confederate States officially lost the Civil War on April 9, 1865. Instead, this flag would be written about in history books and displayed in museums as only a war-tale that makes up a piece of America’s history. The true reality on the Middle Passage and slavery would also be rightfully told and not exploited on the Hollywood silver screen inaccurately. Let me break it down for you plain and simple: If you think the removal of this flag will spark “change”…

Darkie vs. Light Bright II: Kendrick Lamar Edition
Sooooo…. You are mad at Kendrick Lamar because his fiance Whitney Alford’s complexion isn’t black enough for YOUR standards? When I first saw this trending on Social media, I instantly thought, “Are you forreal? Kendrick is a coon now?” It makes sense though, attack the rapper that is making conscious hits such as: The Blacker the Berry and King Kunta vs. the rapper that’s screaming about Crack: I’M IN LOOOOOOVE WITH THE COCO… Who is Rashida Strober and why is this sister so angry over Kendrick’s engagement?” Shouldn’t we celebrate or at least respect love? After questioning the issue of colorism, or dark skin verses light skin in “Darkie Vs.…

How real is the “Illuminati”??
“I want to be famous…” That is the phrase that we hear more and more consistently these days. It seems like society is harvesting more insta-famous “fame whores” now more than ever. People are more obsessed with the glitz and glamour that comes with “The Life”. Today, you can become famous just for being pretty. Never-mind possessing any real talent or doing something that would rightfully make an individual’s name worth mentioning over morning coffee… After growing up and watching the patterns and growth within celebrity, I am forced to ask: Why would one want to be a part of such a machine, minus money? Why does everyone need to…

Bobby Kristina Hospitalized and clinging to life…
This weekend was bombarded with talks of the late Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobby Kristina being hospitalized. She was found face down in a bathtub in her North Atlanta home by her husband and a friend on Saturday, January 31, 2015. She was unresponsive and clinging to life. The rumor mill is reporting everything from marital issues to suicide and depression to anger about the Lifetime biopic that was recently done about her mother. What really happened? Did she do this? Was this intentional or is there more to this story that has yet to reach the surface? What is even more crazy is that her mother was found the exact…

Why isn’t Lil Eazy E playing his father in the NWA biopic?
Looking at Lil Eazy E is just like looking at his father rapper Eric “Eazy E.” Wright. It is almost as if time preserved the late rapper and gave him back to us for the generation after the reign and untimely death of the gangsta rap pioneer. What is even more astonishing is that not only does Lil Eazy look like his father, he was literally brought up the exact same way. Eric Wright Jr. was born and raised in Compton, California just like his father. The woman who birthed and raise Eazy E, raised her grandson Lil Eazy in the same house and neighborhood. When word hit the streets…

Why the world doesn’t need another Biopic
Biopics seem to be on the rise these days. It’s almost like the Reality TV craze. Once a couple of good shows emerged, Hollywood kept popping them out. Now everyone and their mama literally has been on Reality TV, and networks have made a killing off of them. It seemed like, we got a few good biopics at one time. Then came along Jamie Foxx’s ghostly portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray. It’s like that sparked a new film trend. Ray was great. However, when you see how biopics are done today, It forces you to wonder: Are biopics more helpful or harmful to one’s legacy. When we watch…

Why we need to rebuild our communities
I remember growing up in a small, rural town in coastal Carolina. The population still hasn’t reached 6,000. My stomping ground is the epitome of “smalltown USA”. Everyone is in each other’s business because every one knows everyone. There are very little secrets that are unknown. Even though these things may sound like “turn-off’s” or “pet peeves”, which they can be, these traits are what brought us together at the end of the day. For instance, if one of the elderly was having health issues, the community would provide and feed. The community would see to it,that that person didn’t have to worry about things like: yard work or…

Jim Crow 2014
The least that I can do as a black woman is do well. My generation is one of a few to be born under NO CEILINGS. What I mean is, Slavery was over and Jim Crow laws were abolished. I was born into the arms of a mother that didn’t have to worry about the hurdles that have been jumped before the thought of my seed making it’s implantation ever crossed anyone’s mind. I was born with the notion that life is good and the success of the Civil Rights Movement signified the end of black struggle in America. My people have made it! We are no longer three fifths…

Terry Colley: Fighting for Freedom
Could you imagine being on trial and never being told of a plea deal? Your appointed legal council fails to acknowledge your existence at all and at the end of the day, you are railroaded by the system? Terry Colley has spent 21 years out of a 60 year sentence in USP Atlanta. . What’s even harder to understand is that Colley’s rights as a prisoner were violated: From September 21, 1994 to November 21, 1994; A plea deal by the government was made on Colley’s behalf in which Colley was never informed. In fact, Colley’s legal council rejected the plea deal without even informing Colley that negotiations were taking…

HELL NAW. You really thought Darren Wilson wasn’t gonna walk?
You actually believed that Officer Darren Wilson was going to “pay” for this crime? The death of the Civil Rights Movement has left Black America in such a tailspin, that you actually watched the news and believed in your heart that the US Government was really going to charge one of their own for carrying out a planned assignment. Oh my God…. THE WORLD IS SMOKIN’ CRACK! Let’s be real, the Trayvon Martin verdict was supposed to incite riots and surprisingly it failed to do so. The Mike Brown situation did exactly what it was supposed to do: Send a message, piss people off to the point that they…

Noooo…. All this time, Bill Cosby was a Perv?
America is on FIRE right now. Immigration is a hot button topic that is going on literally TODAY. While we were so busy watching Scandal and How to get away with Murder, our government is doing just that as we speak. However, we are too blinded by the latest “example/distraction thrown in our face. Bill Cosby has to be having the week from hell. Early this week, several women, including famed supermodel Janice Dickinson, have come forth with explosive rape allegations that have completely assassinated the wholesome Cliff Huxtable image that Bill Cosby has been known for for decades. Who would have ever thought that the man infatuated with…
