WTF did Joy Behar about black people and slavery on the view?
The View is a talk show that I really do not like. I really haven’t watch this show since I was an adolescent and Star Jones was a permanent fixture on the panel. That was the only time I really gave this show the time of day. First off, let me say this before I even start: I cannot believe that I am writing this article. I cannot believe that the struggle for ratings and relevancy has inspired downright disrespect and rudeness. This is worse than “Watermelondrea”. What makes it worse is that these are supposed to be older (30+) more established business women. Today while I was attending to…

Please don’t call me “Sexy” if you don’t know me…
Whenever someone uses the term “sexy” I automatically hear the word “sex”. I don’t hear the “y”ending. Whenever a guy that I do not know approaches me and he says something like, “Hey sexy.” Or “How you doing, sexy?”, even though there may be complimentary intentions, it does not come across that way. I can’t speak for all women because we are all wired so differently, but I can speak for me. I personally get very uncomfortable if a stranger says this to me. If you call me “sexy” upon meeting versus expressing interest in wanting to know my name, I have no choice but to think that you have…

Quit Bitchin’ about White Privilege…. MOBILIZE
You have already lost the fight if you are truly expecting for Black people to receive any sort of “justice” in America. Think about it. This country was built by free labor on the backs of African slaves AFTER it was stolen from the Native Americans. I think it is absolutely crazy that, those who are the descendants of slaves, are relying on the system to give us “justice”. Keep in mind that this is the SAME system that wronged us… Am I wrong? I mean… we still have yet to receive the 40 acres and a mule that we never even asked for. Remember, that was a false promise…

Is America ushering in a Rape Culture???
The word “rape” is an ugly one. It is a word that has maimed, taken, and altered the lives of countless individuals since the beginning of time. The act of rape is when someone violates another persons body sexually without their consent. Under no circumstances is rape ever acceptable, ok, or deserved. Nobody in their right mind would ask to be violated in such a horrendous way. I don’t know what’s worse: to experience this act and being killed or surviving and having to live with the haunting memory of a time when you were completely powerless and humiliated. The subject of rape is becoming more of a lighthearted joke…

COINTELPRO 2.0 “Black Militants”
Black Lives Matter is not a militant group. I find it interesting that more and more black lives are being discarded and thrown away like garbage while white conservatives everywhere are now saying that Black Lives Matter is a hate group. Never mind how black america is feeling every time we turn on the news to see the body count has risen since the last time we tuned in. Black America is tired. Black America is mobilizing. Because I am naturally not in agreeance with everything about this particular group; I question some actions, lack of reaction, and motives; I made it my business to keep my distance and just…

Why Cisco needs to bring back the Flip Camera.
In 2011, I was really having fun and finding my place in the world both artistically and as a writer. I had just started Kharma’s World two years prior in June of 2009. The only reason why I even started KW was because I needed a website to showcase my music and spoken word and I really did not have the budget to afford a good web developer. Journalism really didn’t have anything to do with it. Becoming a professional writer or blogger was the furthest thing from my mind, even though my grandmother used to tell me that I was going to be a journalist one day. My objective…

Gun Control tactics: the attack on your 2nd Amendment right
We have all heard the old adage, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” Many of us have even used it before meaningfully. Now, with all the gun violence that is being publicized in the news, it seems as though “the guns” is doing all of the killing. Today, there is an attack on our 2nd amendment right, which is our right to bare arms.” The gun control tactics are getting to be even crazier. Now we have to question everything that the media feeds us like, “Did this really happen or is this a hoax with bad crisis actors?” Why is it that every time you turn on the…

APS: The cost of Black life according to Amerikkka
It is safe to say that in America, you can be a white man and have sex with children (Jared Fogle) and only get a slap on the wrist for it, yet you can be a black educator convicted of helping your students “cheat “through a pointless and draining standardized test (APS Cheating Scandal) and be axed for life. Keep in mind, No Child Left behind is designed to really keep our kids behind. It is NOT helping our children at all… It is safe to say that in America, you can be black and make a bad decision, even with good intentions, and be persecuted for it for the rest of…

Kim Davis and Rosa Parks? There is no comparison.
In Rowan County Kentucky, a court clerk by the name of Kim Davis has caused quite a stir. She has made national news all because she refuses to issue marriage license to same-sex couples. Keep in mind that the Supreme Court has recently ruled for gay marriage to be legal in all 50 states. Kim Davis feels that this does not apply to her because it pretty much interferes with “God’s law”. Plus there isn’t a stone cold, multiple divorced Christian more hardcore in their beliefs than Kim Davis… After denying same-sex couples a marriage license almost daily since gay marriage has been legalized, she has ruffled the feathers…

Why I stopped doing independent artist exclusives
When I first started Kharma’s world 6 years ago, I used to do indie-artist exclusives. This is when I would basically take an independent artist and have an open and honest conversation with them on record for my readers to view. I would transcribe their words verbatim and ask all kinds of questions. Exclusives are deep and personal. I used to love doing them because of the fact that they were so intimate and gave my readers a raw and artistic perspective outside of my own. None of my exclusives are the same. However there is one out of two standard questions that I always ask during each exclusive…

Fukk your morals, just “slut-shame” your damn self!
I am convinced that my mind has got to be the size of a sweet pea. I just don’t understand… As a matter of fact… Whhhhhhhhhyyyyyy? I am all for activism and creativity, but as an artist myself, I have truly failed to comprehend both Amber Rose and Blac Chyna’s wardrobe choice to MTV’s 2015 VMA’s. REALLY!!! What kind of statement are you making? This is as bad as Nicki Minaj Slapping the words, “Lookin’ ass nigga” on the picture of Malcolm X as her album artwork (Lets NOT forget about that one) Hell, I don’t even know what to call this one. I was speechless for a good five…

Fatback Shea Butter
They are loading our Shea Butter with animal fat… You read correctly. The above picture is my actual proof. When I first looked at the white, greasy substance that miraculously appeared in my container, I thought: “This looks like the grease that builds up when you leave a cooked roast in the refrigerator overnight.” I didn’t know how right I was… Cosmetically For most, this butter is an all-natural, topical alternative that many of us seek for several reasons. It is an excellent source of vitamins A and E in addition to being a natural moisturizer. It also works wonders for various skin conditions and it is great for healing burns…
