Why “Black men don’t cheat” is WRONG AF
“Black men don’t cheat”. It is a phrase coined by Charlamange the God that has taken on a life form of its own. The phrase was a good laugh in the beginning. I thought this was an actual joke. Boy, was I wrong. This isn’t even overly ambitious, this is a flat out lie. While I am all for being faithful and building healthy relationships within our community, I am more for telling the truth. To say, “Black men don’t cheat” is egotistical and morally irresponsible. It screams of escapism and lacks accountability… FUKK OUTTA HERE

It’s the “don’t cheat” part. Nobody is excluded from the statement… people are hoes, searching, sexually free, fluid as fukk, and whatever else they are calling it these days…. People like sex. Infidelity happens. Sometimes you are the cheater, and sometimes you get cheated on. It hurts like hell and it is damaging but not fatal (in most cases). To say “Black men don’t cheat” is a form of GASLIGHTING at its finest …. This is avoiding taking ownership.
I could respect this saying if it were preached from the point-of-view of, “I have lived, and I have cleaned up my act.” This isn’t the case, when you say, “we don’t do that”, you are being a coward . There is strength in owning your past actions and thoughts, however, this right here is straight denial and I cannot respect it.

Gaslighting is one of the greatest brainwashing manipulation tactics of all time. It is a form of emotional abuse that will leave the victim feeling lost and confused. Whenever I hear more and more celebrity males take on this chant and swear by it, it leaves me scratching my head… When did this happen? How, Sway? I can’t help but question deep down the validity of this statement by recollecting on my own experiences with black men where cheating has occurred.
A gaslighter will make a victim question themselves and their sanity. For example, you can clearly see that the sky is blue, a gaslighter will convince you that it’s green and you will second guess yourself even though you are looking up at a clear blue sky.
When you say that a particular group or person(s) do not cheat, you are dismissing the pain and even growth that the other party experienced. How can chanting “Black Men don’t Cheat” with such faith and conviction make this statement a fact?
From a scorn perspective, I can always say that Black men do cheat. I used to feel that I personally suffered way too much at the hands of Black men. However, what was my part: acceptance of bullshit and not valuing self enough. I sufferred in most cases because I allowed it to happen. That doesn’t necessarily mean that all men “ain’t shit”. It wasn’t until, I lived and grew a little more then I took ownership of my role in different hardships and harsh life lessons that I have learned.
Black men, stop repeating this dumbass shit. Y’all are wrong as hell to even breathe life into this saying.
Own your shit, because through ownership, no one can take yo shit.
