BEE RAW

Be ready and willing to speak towards the change. We are in a world of instant gratification and social norms that have become determined by mix-ups of mass media and mass misinformation. Everyone is talking, but what are they saying?

Bee Raw was formed by women who have decided that instead of remaining broken and feeding into what is destroying the lives and minds of many, we wanted to build ourselves up. TOGETHER.

Through the trials and the traumas, blessings, and breakthroughs, we choose to not do this alone. We choose to work alongside one another like bees, to build a fortress that sustains an entire colony, to utilize our voices, skills, and wisdom to demonstrate the power of community, with a touch of rawness.

If you’re looking for that place that feels like when you unstrap that bra or take your shoes off at the end of a long day, this is it. Grab your open mind and come see where the warrior meets the goddess.

This show is going to make you feel the feels, think the thoughts, and make the moves. We are not concerned with coming at you politically or grammatically correct all of the time, our intentions are to BEE RAW.

Episode 4: The Marriage Talk

Your position on the spectrum of marriage and relationships does not dictate the value of my life. Too often we are seeing, hearing, and experiencing control and insecurity disguised as love. We are seeing paranoia present itself as protection.

This all leads to the realization that forcibly taming a black woman is like placing a sheet over the sun in an attempt to dim its light. Some shit will go up in flames.

Whether it is the teachings you received or an inability to deal with internal discord, please note that no one outside yourself is yours. Release the need to be possessive obsessively. It’s not cute, and it ends up causing avoidable chaos. In this episode, we address this issue through examples from pop culture happenings and real raw dialogue.

Episode 3: The Decline of Black Pride and Dignity

Has there been a shift in blackness? Has our intelligence been tainted? Are we being provoked to anger and trauma?

Spirituality and wokeness seem to have become guises for misconduct. Be mindful of the minds that you seek guidance from, and protect yourself before they cause you to wreck yourself!

Like it or not, the black community is being led to destruction while awaiting the arrival of its next leader. These are some Hunger Games, but this isn’t “The Hunger Games”.  Stop expecting others to volunteer themselves as tribute.  Rather than looking up for someone to become the savior of the Diaspora’s people, look at your black self in the mirror.

Do not let the outside world get you fucked up. Getting your shit together individually benefits the collective. Unplug and see beyond the illusions.

Bee Raw at all times.

This show’s musical selection “Mad at Myself” is brought to you by up-and-coming star Anjoli. Check her out on Youtube, remember you heard her here at BEERAW

Episode 2

This episode starts with a reflection on Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday. Now that it has set in, we asked ourselves WTF … Was That Freedom? It seems as though corporate values are challenging our core values and an eyebrow has most definitely been raised. In our fight for equality, did we miss out on something? Though Freedom was granted, it still had to be learned. One thing we have learned, instead of an equal slice, we’ll take an entire pie.

Episode 1: Plastic Surgery Culture, The pressures of being “Mom”, The breakdown of the Black Family Unit, Health…

In this episode we give our perspectives on the culture of plastic surgery and the pressures it presents on some mothers, the breakdown to the family unit due to folks not minding their own business, the historical energy of the black movement and its setbacks, and taking the cape off of motherhood and reintroducing healthy (co)parenting.
