Iyanla Fix My Life
She keeps it real and brutally honest… If it stinks, she tells you, “It stinks”. She points out the flaws that one desperately tries to cover from everyone’s eyes. She makes you look at them, own them, and accept them. Iyanla Fix my life is a show that is on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network. Her show is a healthy dose of positive programing with a twist. This show does indeed expose an unattractive side to life and different situations. It is all real. However, when you watch Iyanla’s Fix my Life, you feel as though, you have had a therapy session that you didn’t realize you were in need of. It doesn’t matter if you can relate to what Iyanla’s patients are talking about or not. This is real life, raw, unscripted, and uncut.
This show is not about airing one’s dirty laundry. It is all about healing. There is no territory left off limits. Iyanla has hit on everything from addiction, to infidelity, to abuse, to low self- esteem. Not only does she point out the problems and open your life like a book on her show, but she helps you gain order. She gives people the tools that they need to enact solutions within their life, bringing them balance.
In the first two seasons of her show, we have seen people that we don’t know in addition to a few familiar faces and big names. She has work with Evelyn Lozada, Sasha the Diva, and Maia Campbell to name a few. On the premiere of season three, she goes into the Life of R&B singer Syleena Johnson. The Chicago-bred R&B Diva has a few issues that she had to work out in her life. With a powerful and explosive season premiere like this, one can’t help but wait and wonder, “What’s next for this season?”
On July 27, 2013 season three premiered of Iyanla’s show. Here is a small clip of episode one:
